Every detail reflects the heritage of Eastern artistry and the elegance of fine workmanship. Abaq is distinguished by a refined design that brings together graceful ornamentation and precision of composition.

Crafted from light-coloured walnut wood, the Mabkhara is adorned with delicate flowers and branches inlaid with freshwater and marine mother-of-pearl in captivating hues. These intricate motifs flow gracefully across the surface, harmonising with the wood’s natural grain. Fine silver-toned metal threads intertwine with the ornamentation, accentuating the precision of the composition and the beauty of its details, while the contrast between the wood and mother-of-pearl lends the piece an air of understated refinement.

The Mabkhara features an internal brass component, carefully designed to combine practical functionality with aesthetic elegance. The attention devoted to Abaq extends beyond its exterior beauty to the finest details of its internal construction. The dimensions of the brass compartment intended for charcoal were meticulously studied to achieve a carefully considered balance between depth and height.

If the charcoal sits too deep, the ember may extinguish; if positioned too high, its heat may be felt during use. This precise positioning helps keep the charcoal glowing while allowing the fragrant incense smoke to rise and scent the hair.

The Mabkhara is equipped with a protective mesh integrated into its securely fastened lid, creating a barrier between the charcoal and the hair while scenting the hair or clothing with incense.

Abaq has been thoughtfully designed to allow the Mabkhara to be brought close to the roots of the hair during use, with particular attention to safety.

The Abaq Mabkhara is distinguished from other ROSSEISSA pieces by its intricate production process, with many of its components crafted by hand. Each stage requires considerable time and meticulous attention to detail. As a result, production is limited to a very small number of pieces each month, preserving the precision of craftsmanship and the quality of every detail.

When ordering the Abaq Mabkhara, fulfilment depends on product availability:

If the Mabkhara is in stock: We begin preparing your order for dispatch once your purchase has been confirmed.

If the Mabkhara is out of stock: The piece can be made especially for you, subject to your acceptance of the waiting period and confirmation of the order. A skilled artisan will carefully craft your Mabkhara, and production and delivery may take several weeks.

Due to the nature of made-to-order production, work on your piece begins once you have accepted the waiting period and confirmed your order. Such orders cannot be cancelled after confirmation, except in the exceptional circumstances outlined below or as required by applicable laws and regulations.

We therefore recommend reviewing all order details and the waiting period carefully before completing your purchase.

Shipping & Delivery

We endeavour to prepare and dispatch orders according to their destination and the available shipping services. Exceptional delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control, including global crises, wars or disruptions to shipping services.

To preserve the beauty of your Abaq Mabkhara and the quality of its materials and detailing for years to come, we recommend following these care and usage guidelines:

Wooden Components

Gently clean with a soft, dry cloth, ensuring that the wooden components do not come into contact with water, to preserve the natural beauty of the wood and its mother-of-pearl inlay.

Metal Components

We recommend cleaning the metal components with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding exposure to water whenever possible, as moisture may affect the colour of the brass and the quality of its finish over time.

When necessary, detachable metal components may be rinsed briefly with lukewarm water to remove any oud or incense residue, without using chemical cleaning agents. Dry immediately and thoroughly.

Choosing the Right Charcoal

Due to the compact size of the Abaq Mabkhara and the depth of its internal charcoal compartment, we recommend using high-quality charcoal suitable for enclosed incense burners to help maintain its glow during use.

Small pieces of charcoal are recommended to suit the dimensions of the Mabkhara and help minimise excessive heat buildup.

Lighting the Charcoal

The charcoal should first be lit outside the Mabkhara until fully ignited, then carefully transferred to the internal brass compartment using suitable tongs.

Due to the Mabkhara’s compact size and the depth of its internal compartment, charcoal requires sufficient airflow to ignite and glow properly. Attempting to light it directly inside the Mabkhara may cause the charcoal to go out.

After Use

Please remove the burning charcoal from the Mabkhara immediately after use.

Do not leave the charcoal inside the Mabkhara until it turns to ash, as prolonged exposure to heat may affect the condition and appearance of the wood over time.

Storage

Store the Mabkhara in a dry place, away from moisture.
